Unpacking is a zen puzzle game about, you guessed it, unpacking. Shown at the Wholesome Direct and developed by Witch Beam, this game is guaranteed to take the stress out of unpacking.
As described on Steam: “Part “item Tetris”, part home decoration, you are invited to create a satisfying living space while learning clues about the life you’re unpacking.” Unpacking expects you to take the possessions of someone out of boxes and fit them in a new home.
This game wants you to relax. There are no timers, no meters or anyone taking score. It’s just you and the place you’re unpacking. It invites you to have a look at the home you’re in and the things you’re unpacking, at your own pace. You might discover an interesting story along the way.
Unpacking is accompanied by a relaxing soundtrack by BAFTA award-winning composer and audio director Jeff van Dyck, immediately setting the tone for this zen puzzle game.
Unpacking is developed by Witch Beam, who you might know of Assault Android Cactus. The game supports ten languages. There’s a demo available for Steam with a planned release date later this year. Unpacking will also be available on Nintendo Switch.
