As Nintendo continued to announce their upcoming line-up of games for the Switch, one particular game had been eagerly anticipated: Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2. Whether anything to do with the game would be revealed was rumoured but not confirmed. But Nintendo know what their audience want to see, and they didn’t disappoint at all.
The end of the Nintendo Direct panel saw Zelda project manager Eiji Aonuma announce that not only is development on the game still progressing, but some footage would be revealed for the first time. Breath of the Wild has always had a beautiful and unique art style and the look of the previous game continues on in the sequel. Even if it is still in development, it looks gorgeous.
Not only will Link be travelling across land, but he’ll be taking to the sky as well. Handglide and skydive through the skies to enter various landscapes and battles, and even travel through landscapes to reach high areas. The mechanic looks fun and, like previously mentioned, the game looks beautiful so far.
While a specific release date has not been confirmed, Zelda fans can expect to see Breath of the Wild 2 in 2022.
