Xbox Gamescom Stream Wrap-Up

Today, Xbox started off Gamescom with their own stream. Here they mostly highlighted games that were already announced for Xbox, but there were still some pleasant surprises here and there. Here’s a rundown of everything you need to know:

The Dying Light 2 developers showed off a gameplay trailer. They highlighted there are double the amount of parkour moves and you will be facing more human enemies with more choice on how to take them on.

Flight Simulator‘s Jorg Neumann announced quite a few updates coming to Microsoft Flight Simulator. Including but not limited to World Update 6, “Local Legends” and a Reno Air Race partnership. Check out the details here.

Humble Games announced that they’re releasing the following games straight to Xbox Game Pass: Archvale, Bushiden, Chinatown Detective Agency, Dodgeball Academia, Flynn: Son of Crimson, Midnight Fight Express, Next Space Rebels, Signalis, Unpacking, and Unsighted.

Into The Pit, a retro-FPS roguelite, got announced for Xbox. You play as a member of a family of lore-hunting mystics and are summoned to a cursed village. Your job is to rescue survivors while growing your powers.

Some other Game Pass announcements: Age of Empires 4 is coming October 28 and Sea of Thieves announced a special Borderlands crossover that starts today and runs until September 7.

A few games also announced new DLC. Wasteland 3 revealed their “Cult of the Holy Detonation” DLC, coming on October 5. On that same date they also release the Colorado Collection, which consists of Wasteland 3 and all previous DLC. State of Decay 2 showed off their newest DLC, Homecoming, which releases September 1. Here you return to the fan-favourite Trumble Valley. This time, it’s open-world with exclusive items and new weapons. Neverwinter also announced a new module “Jewel of the North.” This module streamlines the game for newcomers but also adds a new Bard class.

Stray Blade, a new hack and slash game developed by Point Blank Games, is coming to Xbox in 2022. In this action RPG, you explore the ancient Valley of Acrea and try to bring peace to this war torn land.

The Gunk is another new IP that got revealed today. In this gritty adventure, you play as a duo of space haulers that discover a planet plagued by a corruptive gunk. Try to save the planet and uncover its secrets before it’s too late. The Gunk releases fall 2021.

Some other announcements were: Crusaders Kings 3 is coming to Xbox for the first time in the series history, and Psychonauts 2 showed off a launch trailer. The game is set to release tomorrow. Forza Horizon 5, which releases November 9, showed off a beautiful limited edition controller and some new gameplay.

And last but not least, Xbox Cloud Gaming is coming to Xbox consoles as part of Game Pass Ultimate. This will allow players to play Xbox Series X/S games on their Xbox One.
