Sifu, Sloclap’s martial arts bonanza, is coming February 2022
Sloclap showed off a new gameplay trailer for their martial arts epic, Sifu. Players can dive into the action in early 2022. Arriving on February 22, the Absolver developers latest project is an 80s wuxia dream.
Sloclap’s followup to multiplayer hit Absolver, Sifu tells the story of a young Kung Fu student eager to get revenge for the assassination of his family. Fight your way up from gangs in the suburbs to office workers in corporate halls. Learn to adapt to the situation and use everything in your power to avenge your family name.
This trailer really shows off the fluid combat. Sifu manages to bring the best of both beat em ups and 3D action games to the forefront. Sloclap also added an interesting mechanic to their game; every time you die, a magical pendant brings you back to life. Obviously, an ability like this comes at a cost: every time you use it, you age significantly.
The trailer also highlights the unique art style and colour palette, reminiscent of older Kung Fu movies. Combine that with an amazing soundtrack and you’ve got a game that’s definitely on our radar.
Sifu releases with a standard edition and a deluxe edition on PlayStation consoles and the Epic Games Store. Pre-orders are available today.
